Vital Statistics
Name: Philip
Age: 31
Height: 6’0”
Career: Network Engineer

In His Own Words
I was raised in the heart of Los Angeles since the age of 2 and moved up to San Francisco almost six years ago.

I don’t think I was born to live Southern California. It’s way too hot for my blood. I prefer the crisp cool air of San Francisco.

A network engineer by day, I balance life with varies activities such as volleyball, snowboarding, a night out with friends…just to name a few.

I’ve always had a passion for volleyball (since I started playing at the age of 14). Now it’s time to share what I’ve learned. Currently, I am coaching a high school volleyball team and enjoy seeing that “spark” when someone acquires a new skill or technique. Also, I know I’ve earned the team’s respect when individuals begin to proactively ask for my advice on game improvement.

Baare Speed Dating Interview

Baare: What do you wish you could learn more about?
Philip: Hmm.. I would say the culinary arts. I enjoy food, cooking, and trying new recipes. I’m known for my spare ribs. I managed to reverse engineer one of my mom’s recipes (like most Asian cooks, my mom doesn’t measure) One day, I’d like to attend Le Cordon Bleu for formal culinary training; just for fun. Everything I know now is from past experiments and modified recipes. Anyone interested in being my next guinea pig?

Baare: What is something about you that would surprise most people?
Philip: Unlike most guys, I don’t really watch sports on TV; although, I do enjoy watching sports live. However, I rather be out playing the sport(s) myself. I think that’s because I get restless and bored watching others play.

Baare: So what books are you reading these days?
Philip: That’s funny you should ask that. I have a book shelf that contains books that I haven’t finished reading. Most of the time I would get through half to two-thirds of the way into a book and just not feel compelled to finish it. I’ve been reading “The Fountainhead” by Ayn Rand for two years! Has anyone finished reading this book? Maybe you can tell me the ending.

Baare: How would your friends describe you?
Philip: A loyal, sincere, and genuine guy; the “strong silent type” and a good listener. I always try to be loyal and respectful to all my friends. Like the saying goes, “Do onto others as you would have others do onto you.”
