Biography
Suz is an East Bay girl who attended Cal Berkeley as a business and CIS major, but after everything has been said and done, she decided to actively pursue her passion for writing. She is currently the San Francisco correspondent for Asiance, the New York-based on-line magazine for Asian American women: www.asiancemagazine.com

It was an assignment on speed dating for the magazine that led Suz to participate in Baare’s November 2003 event last year and she had such a fantastic time that she decided to participate again in Baare’s upcoming February 2004 event.

Baare: When did you start writing?
Suz: I believe I started practicing the craft of writing when I was a kid. From the moment I was taught how to write, I wrote letters that were more like stories of the events that took place around me to my uncles in Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. Soon, I discovered that I had other family in France and Australia, so I wrote to them, too. It didn’t matter that they were French, Taiwanese, or Australian citizens and that perhaps they didn’t read English and the sheer power of my second grade vocabulary words would be lost on them.

Baare: Aside from being a writer, what would your other dream job be?
Suz: I would love to be like Indiana Jones or Lara Croft, because I have a deep fascination with history and archaeology. Also, the idea of jumping out of airplanes and deep sea diving for treasures sounds exciting, and not to mention all the things I could do with that leather whip and the possibility of some handcuffs…and…oh…sorry, too much information…

Baare: I’m afraid to ask, but what do you like to do in your free time?
Suz: I like to relax in front of the TV or go watch movies, shoot some pool, hang out in bookstores, frequent museums, and drive up north on Highway 1 along the Pacific Ocean with the music blaring and the windows down.

Baare: Alright then…one last question…what do you look for in a guy?
Suz: Looks are a plus, but I like an intellectual guy with a sense of adventure. Also, I joke and tease around a lot so a guy with a sense of humor would be much appreciated. Maturity and strength are very attractive traits to me, but the most important thing is someone with a passion for something…anything…whether it is disco bowling, playing the harmonica through his nose, or collecting discarded pictures from photo booths like the guy in that French movie…wait…if anyone can figure out what movie that’s from, I’ll gladly give them a kiss at the next Baare event!
